‘The President Is Now Safe’ – U.S. Attorney for the District of Colu…

U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro, the former Fox News host now serving as a senior Department of Justice official, announced Monday that a woman has been arrested for threatening President Donald Trump. In a video posted on social media, Pirro stated that Nathalie Rose Jones is now in federal custody and has been charged with two serious crimes for knowingly and willfully threatening to take the life of the President of the United States. Pirro said Jones traveled to Washington, D.C., where she escalated her threats through social media, calling the president a terrorist and openly advocating for his removal and elimination. Pirro emphasized that Jones is now in custody and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, underscoring the gravity of the charges.

In a formal statement, the U.S. Attorney’s Office confirmed that Nathalie Rose Jones, 50, of Lafayette, Indiana, was arrested in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, August 16, and charged in connection with a series of social media posts threatening to kill President Trump. According to the Department of Justice, Jones faces charges for threatening to take the life of, kidnap, or inflict bodily harm upon the President of the United States, as well as transmitting interstate communications containing threats to kidnap or injure another person. Pirro described threats against the president as among the most serious federal crimes and praised the U.S. Secret Service agents from New York and Washington, D.C., for their role in identifying and apprehending the suspect.

Court documents state that between August 2 and August 9, members of the U.S. Secret Service observed multiple threatening posts made by the Instagram account “nath.jones,” which labeled President Trump a terrorist, accused his administration of dictatorship, and blamed him for loss of life during the COVID-19 pandemic. Similar threats allegedly continued on Facebook in the following days, including explicit statements describing violent intent. During interviews with Secret Service agents, Jones allegedly reiterated her hostility toward the president and claimed she possessed a bladed object intended to carry out an attack. After participating in a protest march near the White House on August 16, Jones was arrested, and authorities say she admitted making the threats online and confirmed ownership of the social media accounts referenced in the charges.
