President Donald Trump startled many on Saturday by sharing a video on Truth Social titled “The Video Hillary Clinton Does Not Want You to See,” which revives long-standing conspiracy theories about “mysterious deaths” supposedly linked to Bill and Hillary Clinton. The clip highlights a series of high-profile cases involving individuals once associated with the Clintons, including John F. Kennedy Jr., DNC staffer Seth Rich, former White House Counsel Vince Foster, and former intern Mary Mahoney. Each of these deaths was investigated at the time, with authorities determining causes ranging from accidents to robbery-related homicide and suicide.
The video also references other cases often included in so-called “Clinton body count” lists, such as the deaths of James McDougal during the Whitewater investigation and former White House chef Walter Scheib, who drowned accidentally in 2015. It further mentions Shawn Lucas, a Sanders supporter found dead in 2016 after serving a lawsuit against the Democratic National Committee. For decades, these incidents have fueled speculation online, despite the absence of credible evidence tying the Clintons to any of the fatalities.
While such claims have circulated for years, Trump’s decision to amplify them drew significant attention. Fact-checking organizations like Snopes have consistently debunked the “Clinton body count” theory since the 1990s, noting repeated investigative findings that fail to support any organized wrongdoing. The conspiracy last surged prominently in 2019 after the death of Jeffrey Epstein, when #ClintonBodyCount trended widely and was criticized by Democrats for spreading baseless narratives.
